NEW YEAR GOALS, AND HOW TO ACHIEVE THEM

Happy first day of 2018 loves! If you live in the North Pole like I do, you probably have a variety of winter coats. Since I have so many different ones for different occasions, I try to look for more affordable ones. This coat from ASOS has been one of my favourite purchases this season. It works perfectly with my bump and is long enough to keep my butt warm! I love anything with a faux fur hood, and of course, anything that is pink!

Moving onto New Years goals. Who doesn’t love a fresh start? I know I do! I’m going to be sharing some of my New Years goals, and how I am going to achieve them (and how you can achieve yours!).

IN WITH THE POSITIVE, OUT WITH THE NEGATIVE

It’s so easy these days for people to be negative on social media, where I do most of my work. The more I put myself out there, the more positive comments I get and positive people I meet. But that also comes along with some of the negative. Every day, I see more and more negativity. How do we stop this? Well, unfortunately we can’t. All we can do is work on ourselves and make sure WE are not one of those miserable negative people. We also need to make sure those people don’t get to us or have an affect on our lives. This is definitely easier said than done, but the more that I deal with these people, the easier it gets. I’ve also learnt to like the “block” button. Typically when I see a negative comment, I instantly block that person. Then I don’t have to think about it again and I can move on. People like to judge and compare and compete on social media. Lucky for me, I can now spot these people a mile away and I’ve learnt to stay far away from them. I’ve seen two types of women on Instagram a lot lately. The women who empower each other and are positive and send out awesome vibes (love my girls), and girls who are negative and try to compete and are just simply never happy with their lives. But let me tell you something, those negative people can keep being just how they are and we need to remember that it has nothing to do with us. It is their own insecurities and all you can do is remain your positive self. This also goes for friends. Take a look at your life and notice the friends that make you feel good and bring happiness to your life. You will benefit by having these women in your life. Then take a look at the negative ones who don’t understand your dreams and bring you down. The ones who aren’t happy with their own lives, so they try to make you miserable too. Get rid of them, like, yesterday. Trust me, once you only have positive women in your circle, you will feel unstoppable! I am SO thankful every day for all of my hard-working girlfriends who are the ones who keep me inspired. You girls know who you are.

BE MY HEALTHIEST, HAPPIEST SELF

Getting “fit” is usually something on a lot of peoples New Years resolutions list. For me, I want to be healthy. I want to do what feels good to me without pushing myself to run until I am sick, or to just drink smoothies all day long (don’t get me wrong, I still looove my morning banana smoothie!). I want to be MY healthiest self. This will look different for everyone! I am not a yoga girl, but I’ve decided to really give it a shot and sign up for prenatal yoga. Cheers to new experiences!

BE MORE PRESENT

Most of my work is on my phone or the computer. Last year I spent way too much time looking at screens when I didn’t have to. Of course, I will spend all the time I need working on my phone and computer, but when it really isn’t necessary, I want to put these devices away and forget about them. I already started doing this more towards the end of 2017, and let me tell you how refreshing it is!

ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS

It’s so easy to make these goals on January 1st, but it’s also just as easy to forget these goals once your year starts and you get back into routine. What is something that you do every single morning? Whether it’s brushing your teeth in front of your mirror, or making yourself a coffee, have constant reminders of what you want to achieve and who you want to become. For me, every morning when I wake up, I have to check my work emails. I do this on my computer. I make myself a coffee and then sit at my computer and start on my emails. I’ve made myself “notes” that I constantly keep on my home screen and before I read any emails, I read these notes. One note has a list of goals that I want to achieve in the next 6 months to a year. Another note has a list of words that I want to describe myself. Out loud, I read all of these out and start thinking that I am already that version of myself. Starting your day off positively and with notes reminding you of what you want to achieve that day or year, make a complete difference. Put notes on your fridge, mirror, coffee machine or anywhere else you need!

Tell your close friends your goals and make sure that they are the type of friends who want to help you out and keep you accountable. Your life is yours and you have the choice to make it exactly what you want, starting RIGHT NOW.

Make realistic goals. Don’t make goals that are so ridiculous that will make you give them up almost as soon as you write them down. But also remember, you are amazing and can achieve what you truly put your mind to.

Stay organized and get yourself a planner! This has helped me so much and always keeps me going on my path. Ultimatey, only you can work as hard as you want and keep yourself accountable. This is a new year, make sure it’s your best yet!
