Turning 28

Happy Wednesday babes! I have a busy day ahead of me which consists of packing, cleaning and getting ready for our vacation tomorrow! But before I do that, I wanted to share a bit of my birthday staycation and talk about my feelings on turning 28.

For my birthday weekend, we stayed at one of the coolest hotels I’ve been to- Hotel Arts. Their luxury suite was so spacious and had everything that we possibly needed. It truly does have the most beautiful and unique art all over the hotel and in the rooms. It was unlike any place I have ever been! We dined at one of their two very well-known restaurants “Yellow Door”. If you have not been, you are missing out! The duck was amazing.. and I am really picky when it comes to duck. The vibe was so fun and trendy and the whole restaurant is designed so beautifully. This place was made for me! All of the colours and patterns on the walls and furniture, and of course the food was just beyond amazing! The meal portions are also extremely generous. The boys even slept the whole time we ate! I don’t remember a dinner so relaxing. Their other restaurant “Raw Bar” is simply stunning inside! The menu is also one of a kind.

When we came back from dinner, I found a plate of chocolate and flowers left for me with “Happy Birthday Victoria” written across the top of the plate. I wish I had a picture to share, but I ate the chocolates in less than 2 minutes haha!

Touching on the subject of growing older… I feel like I hear too many people complaining about their birthdays. Or scared to age another year, or some who don’t even want to celebrate their birthdays! For me, celebrating my birthday is celebrating another year of accomplishments. Another year of being with the ones I love, and adding another one I love (Layker). Another year of finding true happiness and creating good friendships. Another year of countless adventures and so much more. I love celebrating my birthday and getting older. The older I get, the more I learn, the more I grow as a person, and the better life gets. I swear life gets better and better every year. I think birthdays are a time when we need to celebrate ourselves and how far we have come in life, and all of the wonderful things that come along with it. Instead of looking at my birthday as something negative, I look at it as another year that I was blessed to be on this earth, healthy and happy with the ones I love.

I hope you all have a great rest of your week!
